And Warhol Using an Amiga to Paint Debbie Harry
“In what many have dubbed the world’s first multi-media presentation on July 23rd 1985 at the Lincoln Center in New York, the maverick art legend Andy Warhol stood on stage using a new computer to paint a portrait of pop star Debbie Harry in his own unique style. That night the world was introduced to something entirely new in computing: the Amiga.”
This past Wednesday’s Rocketboom episode on Andy Warhol sent me on a half hour hunt for other lost material by the artist. Who knew that the best link to be found (besides the video of him eating a hamburger) would be info on a rare piece of Warhol using an Amiga? I wonder how long it will take before a bootleg video of this perfomance shows up online.
