Rocketboom Presents The Suffersons

December 28th, 2009 (New York, NY): Rocketboom is pleased to announce the launch of “The Suffersons”, a new comedic series created by Blair Singer (“Weeds”, “Monk”, “Book of Daniel”), starring Michael Chernus (“Bored to Death”, “Mercy”) and Susan Pourfar (“The Sopranos”, “Numb3rs”).

“The Suffersons”, an original comedic series written exclusively for the web, stars Chernus as Josh Sufferson, an out-of-work accountant who decides to write a novel with his free time. Unfortunately, his wife, Dana (Pourfar), mocks his literary pursuits mercilessly. When Dana finds out that Josh is writing a novel about their marriage, she decides to write her own book, a memoir about their marriage, exposing all of Josh’s embarrassing secrets.

As well as writing for television, Mr. Singer has had a prolific career as a playwright, most recently being represented by his comedy, Matthew Modine Saves the Alpacas, at the Geffen Playhouse in Los Angeles starring Matthew Modine as Matthew Modine. For the web, Mr. Singer wrote for the third season of “lonelygirl15”. The 11 episode season of “The Suffersons” will run from Monday December 28th through Sunday January 3rd at www.rocketboom.com
